Hong Kong private equity-focused manager VMS Group is expanding its multi-manager business, with plans to cover all asset classes within the alternatives space.

“In addition to hedge funds, private equity, venture capital as well as potentially private credit, real estate are all within scope,” said partner Elton Cheung.

“The end game is to build up more and more strategies, through organic growth in [our in-house] private equity and venture [strategies], and or external seeding in hedge funds, or potentially private equity, venture and other illiquid strategies.”

While current private equity investments are focused on Chinese market, VMS wants a wider geographical focus on Asia-Pacific, emphasizing on investments in technology and healthcare sector
